FRAYJA
I had my first taste of Tribal Belly Dance in
1999 at a Society for Creative Anachronism
event. The exotic look and feel of it spoke to
me. Ever since then I have not been able to get
enough of it!  I took every Belly Dance/Middle
Eastern Dance class that I could at SCA events
and then expanded my training to include
instruction by by Carolena Nerricio of Fat
Chance Belly Dance, Tahya and Malina in
Pennsylvania, Shakra of Washington DC,
Sharon Kihara and Asharah.
I believe that Belly Dancing heals the soul. It
gives me inner peace and brings out the
Goddess within as well as instilling a sense of
empowerment and sisterhood among my
fellow troupe members.
I enjoy expressing my creative through the
textile arts including sewing my own costumes,
knitting, quilting and crotchet. I also practice
yoga and am a firm believer that it is a Belly
Dancer's best friend!
